Are you college student? Are you planning your career path? Are you preparing your future? Are you seeking complete information about job and career?

If the answer is "yes", you must obtain complete and comprehensive career and job information, so that you are well-prepared and ready to compete with thousands candidates who are pursuing the career in the same field or the same company.

Beside enhancing your hard skills and your soft skills, you must obtain correct and appropriate information, you must gain a lot of information which are related to your career planning.

I will show you the sources of information and you should take actions to obtain information from there.

The source of information of your career planning and development:

1. Your school's career center

There must be career centers in your campus. Campus career centers have databases featuring current contact information for thousands of alumni.

The alumni usually serve a lot of information about their job, career information, opportunities, and so on.

They will be happy to deliver appropriate information based on their experiences and their knowledges. They will help you if you ask them.

2. Professional organizations

Generally every career has an association made up of people who work in the same field.

Suppose you want to ask some information about civil engineering especially building construction, what is the career opportunity in this area, and another information, you can visit it's professional association and reading the information there.

You can browse at the contact information menu in the website, so you can find the names and their contact, then ask them to talk about the information you want to understand.

3. Magazines, newspaper, and other publications

Sometimes information can be obtained directly from magazines, newspaper, journal, and other publications.

You have to try hard finding information via these media. You can find these in your campus library and others.

Commonly, the authors put their name and contact information (like email, website/blog, etc).

Try to contact the author, email him to meet and discuss. For example:

"I am Magdalena, college student majoring civil engineering. I read your article in the bla bla magazine (April, 2017) and immediately became curious to learn more about what you do in the field of building construction. Would  it be acceptable for me to call you and ask few questions about your work and how you got to where you are today?"

You will get a lot of insight about your career planning and opportunities from it.

4. Company web sites

If you have dreamed company (you really want to work there after graduation), you can visit the company website.

Observe the job opportunities and job description/requirement. Through this activity, you will know complete information about the pre-requirement, requirements, what certificates you must obtain, what skills you must possess, etc.

The core benefit is, you are well-prepared and will be ready to compete with other candidates who have a willingness to work there too.
