We live in a tight condition. Every HR (Human Resource) manager try his best to find the right candidate for his company. Thousands of resumes come to him, and he must choose an outstanding person among the thousands of individuals.

The conclusion is you must be one of that remarkable person. But how? How to get hired for the job you want? I will show you the answer, so please read step by step and do the best practice below.

Step by step how to get hired at any job

Let's start the first step.

1. Enhance the cover letters.

This is the first step and crucial step. Why cover letters are vital? Because cover letters can help your resume to be picked and read by a recruiter.

A cover letter is the first selection. If you have a bad cover letter, you will be eliminated from the shortlist of the candidate.

In addition to this, a cover letter is one of the deciding factors whether you will be called for an interview or not.

Above is the explanation why a cover letter is a deciding factor that you can go to the next step or not. The company wants to hire the people who can communicate both in oral and written. A cover letter shows them your written communication in general. That's why the recruiter sees and read cover letter to choose the shortlisted candidate to go to next stage.

A cover letter must set appropriately. First is to tell particular opportunity and company. Explore the new opportunity; you can convince the manager that you can give a positive contribution to the company, highlight your skill and experience, and closing statement that you are eager to discuss the job and your contribution to the employer.

What is a cover letter?

This information is necessary for a college student and recent graduate people. A cover letter is a document that introduces you to an employer.

A cover letter is one of an essential component of application correspondence. These components are the cover letter, resume, reference sheet (if it's needed), and a transcript (if it's needed).

Fundamental information about cover letter

- It is tailored to the precise position, certain job, particular company.
- The essence of a cover letter is to clarify that you are the appropriate person for the position in the company.
- A cover letter is not a restatement of everything you list on your resume.
- The key to impress the recruiter is you have to highlight 4-5 your skills and qualities the employer seems to be seeking.
Research and review the position description first to match them with your qualities.
- Write the cover letter professionally (no typos, grammatical errors, etc.)

Cover letter elements

- Contact information, such as full name, address, email address, phone number.
- Employer's contact information.
- Salutation (address your letter to a particular individual).
- First paragraph (your chance to grab the recruiter's attention). It contains an introduction and why you are writing the cover letter, what position you are applying for, etc.
- Middle paragraph.
You must convince the recruiter that you are the right person for the position. Point out your skills/qualities, achievement, etc.
- Closing paragraph.
Restate your interest in the position, then thank the recruiter for considering your application. You should indicate that you will follow-up this letter and ready to discuss further.
- Signature.

2. Write a professional resume

After you impress the recruiter by your good cover letter, he will continue to the next process. Now, he is reading and studying your resume.

Strong resume with the right format has a big chance for being interviewed.

What is resume?

A resume is a summary of your professional highlight and achievement for getting into the desired company.

The purpose of a resume is a marketing tool used to convince an employer of your qualifications. If you grab their attention, you will be interviewed for the next phase of recruitment.

A resume summarizes who you are and what you can do for the company, so resume helps the employer decide whether or not to interview you.

The key information of professional resume

- Resume must present what you have achieved, learned, and demonstrated that might benefit the company (not a work history only).
- The ultimate purpose of a resume is not to obtain a job but to get an interview.

Make sure that your resume gives a positive and professional impression.

3. Be prepared for phone interview

Today, your first interview with an employer may take place over the phone. I have had an experience about this. Once I submitted my application, three days after

the employer call me to make a schedule at a specified time.

Many companies conduct an initial phone interview to assess and determine the best-qualified candidates for the next recruitment phase. Usually, this stage is called pre-screen candidates. Once the candidate was picked, a recruiter will offer in-person interviews.

Based on this fact, you have to be well prepared to make a great impression and go one step closer to landing the job.

How employer evaluate the candidate in phone interview

Below are the things which you must concern if you want to succeed in the phone interview.

- The employer/the recruiter/the interviewer will see your initial greeting on the phone.
- The interviewer will evaluate your enthusiasm and tone of voice.
- They will see your way to answer the question whether vaguely or directly (to the point).
- They will observe you whether you ask questions to them or not.
- They will know whether you did research the company and job position or not.
- They will try to understand did you express an interest in the next stage of recruitment.
- They will try their best to know that your skill/attitude/knowledge/experiences/achievement are in harmonious with the job (task/responsibilities/duties, company culture, etc.)

Phone interview tips

A good rapport is achieved by being receptive to the interviewer's style. It is vital because interviewers may make decisions in the first six minutes.
